The Word on Wednesday

As some of you know, and others may have discerned, my mother is not doing well health-wise. In fact, life has changed quite dramatically for her in the last 2 months and they have been rough both physically and emotionally for my mom, and for all of the ones who love her. ---
Times like this really test your faith in God: is it based on getting the answers to prayer that we want (which would be a total healing for mom), or is it based on trust in the ONE who made her and has known her from her mother's womb, no matter how HE chooses to answer our prayers? Do I believe He loves her more then even we, her family, do? And finally do I believe that even in times like these, He is with her...and us too.

O Lord, Thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,
Thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, Thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid Thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Psalms 139:1-6 KJV
~
Whither shall I go from Thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me.
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee.
Psalms 139:7-12 KJV
~
For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from Thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalms 139: 13-16 KJV
~
How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee.
Psalms 139:17-18 KJV
~
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139: 23-24 KJV

May the Lord who truly knows and loves His children bless you,

Hi Aimee...I'll be praying for your mom!!!..and for you and the rest of the family, too. I love that photo you shared. Is your mom the baby on the chair or the little girl standing next to the chair? What a sweet photograph.

I'm going to add your blog to the list of blogs I follow on my dashboard...I hope it'll show your posts...because it looks like I've missed some :( :( and that makes me sad!!! I don't want to miss any of your posts!!! Do you also have Google Friend Connect or signing up for updates via email?

I'm praying for you lots and lots!!! Much love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :) :)

Hey Heather!
TY for your prayers--I appreciate them! My mom is the little girl in the chair--I like this photo too; I have many of her that I scanned from her scrapbooks.

I am glad that my posts are a blessing to you and TY:)

I don't think I have either of the things you asked about--I can tell if someone is a follower on my dashboard. You should be able to get all updates if you signed up as a follower through the dashboard. I am thinking of listing all followers on the blog; might do a poll to see if the majority of readers like that idea.

TY again for all the prayers and for your blog:)
Blessings,
Aimee

Aimee..what I would recommend if you don 't want others to know exactly who is following your blog is to add a feature where people can subscribe to your blog via regular email. I have that on my blog..check it out :) :) What that does...someone enters their email address into that box...AND then whenever there's a new post...a notification is sent to that person's email address :) :) :) Only you have access to who is subscribing/following :) :)

I added your URL to my blogger dashboard...where I get all my updates..BUt the strange thing..and it's not just your site...but with a couple others that don't have email subscription or Google friend connect...It won't include the updates with the other blogs. I still have to click specifically on your blog, for example...but that's okay :) :) :) You should do whatever is most comfortable for you, since it's YOUR blog :) :) :)

Thanks for the info on the picture of your mom. That is just too cute!!! I have a baby photo of my grandmother taken in 1920...and another where she must be around 2 years old or so riding a tricycle :) :) :) Have a great weekend!!! Lots of love, hugs and prayers from Oregon, Heather :)

Thanks for the additional information--I am OK with doing whatever makes it easier for visitors:)

Oh -- I bet your grandmother's photos are awesome! I love historical photos-I inherited many of them; some from as early as 1870 or so. Since one of my hobbies is family history/genealogy--it was great to be able to see a photo of some of the ancestors I was researching and to be able to share them with other descendants:)

Again-TY for the extra info!
Blessings,
Aimee
