Springtime in the Coast Range

Tell me we're going on a drive in the mountains and
I can be ready to go in about 15 minutes or so no matter the season.
I LOVE them that much!
But one of my most favorite seasons to be in the mountains is springtime--
because of the waterfalls, fresh green of the foliage and, well, so much more!
One of the waterfalls we passed...
can I just say my love of waterfalls and desire to get a nice photo of them
vastly overcomes ANY fear of coming in contact with poison oak.
So far I've been lucky:)
By the way,
this is a great time of the year to see waterfalls
and I have some more travel plans in mind:)
After a rather scary scramble downhill, we arrived on the bank of a river...
it was beautiful down there!
The lake we saw a bit earlier was really pretty too--
I LOVE to explore new areas on any of the trips we take...
but when my hubby turned left way before we were supposed to,
my heart got a mini 'workout'...
fortunately he had no intention of going too far on that particular road:)
Up on one of the 'viewpoints' we hiked too...
I would love to know the name of this particular flowering bush...
although this photo doesn't quite do it justice:(
One complaint here...
why, just because it's public land,
do people think they have the right to do anything they feel like?
It doesn't take long to pick up your litter and those coming after sure appreciate not finding trash while they take in all the beauty up there!
BTW, please feel free to insert your own deep sad sigh and irritated growl here
as I do everytime I see this.
On the road again...SO much green!
And with that I will bid you adieu for today as
I have a somewhat shorter journey to make today...
it's time to check my laundry drying outside and hope I see another hummingbird:)

Wishing you peace and love...
Blessings,
Aimee

Gorgeous! Spring in anywhere in Oregon is breathtaking. I do love the waterfalls, though! Don't have too many of those in E. OR.

Thank you:) It is SO beautiful right now everywhere! This weekend I got a far off view of pretty Mt Hood and that left me wanting more-what a wonderful blessing it is to live close by that gorgeous peak!

Gorgeous pictures! I love the waterfalls. One of the parts of the drive down I90 going to Portland that I like best is seeing all of the waterfalls along the Columbia around Multnomah Falls. They are gorgeous.

Thank you for all of the beautiful photos and I agree about the littering. I don't understand it either. In fact, you probably saw Kyleigh's eye on my blog. She was running to pick up trash someone had thrown away when she fell. That little girl cleans up trash everywhere she goes. I'm proud of her and how she wants to make a difference.

Have a lovely day!
Blessings,
Betsy

I bet your piece of paradise is absolutely gorgeous right now! I love, love, love it there!
You'll have to come out this way sometime and visit our waterfalls and the coast:)
Blessings,
Aimee
PS: I found recipes for both ice cream and sorbet in a bag...I am SO excited to try it since reading your post!

Thanks:) SO much prettier in person!
I am SO PROUD of your Kyleigh--that is so thoughtful of her! In our case, I was too scared to pick up what we saw because it was broken glass and shotgun shells. There was so much of it too. I couldn't believe anyone would be that selfish and thoughtless:(
Blessings, Aimee

Yes, it is indeed a beautiful time of year. And I love hiking in the Gorge and checking out all the gushing waterfalls. Glad you got out and were able to enjoy some spring beauty.

Linda,
You are SO lucky NOT to be afraid of heights--it limits where I can hike:)
Did you get out this weekend too?
Blessings,
Aimee

Teresa-
Thank you, thank you! I really loved this bush--it was SO beautiful in the middle of all the evergreen trees! LOL--we were talking about bears and cougars when we were on our trip up there:)

I'm pretty sure you're right that this is a beaver dam. I didn't walk down to it, but that's what it looked like to me from where I was standing on a bridge. This photo was taken not too long after the lake one--it's on the river that flows out of there I believe.

It is a great place...I love the mountains:)

Blessings,
Aimee
